Covet

Genre: Suspense/Thriller, 16mins
Status: Completed
An obsession becomes deadly when a shut-out reclose must have something for himself.
The score for 'Covet' heavily features spacious, bright piano complemented by deep droaning organ with flowing cello to balance out the contrast. The challenge with this film was to match the discoveries that the audience would experience with the musical pace.

Naked
Vancouver, Canada
Genre: Comedy, 6mins
Status: Completed
A couple who are modelling for a life-drawing art class notice eachothers minute imperfections whilst they are in nude tableau. What starts out as a smarky remark turns into a full blown domestic dispute.
The director, Juan Riedinger attended a life-drawing class before going to camera on this film. At the class they were playing the music of Enya to create the desired mood for an artistic setting. Thus it was decided that the music for 'Naked' would be composed in her unique style.

Shark Out of Water
Vancouver, Canada
Genre: Dramatic Narrative, 18mins
Status: Completed
This film received three unique scores before one was decided on. It was important to set the music apart from the emotional journey of the films characters by making it more subliminal. Earlier compositions paralleled or surpassed the emotionality of the storyline, this was not the intention as it would impose a feeling on the audience instead of allowing that feeling to be organic.

A film writer is going to be late for an interview with a big producer, what's his excuse going to be?
It was requested that this film have a similar score to 'Usual Suspects'. I experimented with arpeggios in the format of a string quartet, ascending and decending, major, minor, augmented, eventually coming up with a score that fit the vision of director Corey Ogilvie.

These Charming Men
Vancouver, Canada
Genre: Comedic Drama, 8mins
Status: Completed
The title of this Canadian TV series is a spin on a well-known song by The Smiths entitled 'This Charming Men' so it was only appropriate that the tentative theme tune for this series be a snippet from the opening of the song. It was my job to re-record in its original style with Johnny Marr style guitar tone, pulsing bass and a solid downbeat.
